Making Your Own Luggage Fabric Tags
If you’ve ever wanted to make your own luggage fabric tags you’re in luck. These
items are simple and easy to make and are very useful. In addition to using your
sewing machine and choice of fabric, you can also use your computer to create
custom designed name and information identifiers for your tags. Luggage fabric
tags look great and can complement your choice of luggage and provide practical
solutions for travelers.
To make your own luggage fabric tags, you’ll need two pieces of fabric in
contrasting colors. It’s good to cut both pieces into two matching rectangles,
roughly about four by six inches. When choosing fabric you should make sure that
the colors look great with your luggage, but you also will want to ensure that
the fabric shows up, or is noticeable when attached to your luggage. Luggage
fabric tags are an excellent way to ensure that your luggage is not accidentally
mistaken for belonging to someone else. When your luggage features a brightly
colored and easy to see tags, you won’t need to worry that strangers are walking
off with your luggage. Also, in the case of loss, your information will be
easily located on your luggage.
In addition to choosing the fabric, you’ll also need to select heavy weight
Pellon interfacing as this will keep your luggage fabric tags properly padded
and give them the support that they need. A computer is an excellent way to
print up your information, but some might decide to simply write it out. When
you stitch your luggage fabric tag, you will need to use a Teflon sewing foot as
you will be stitching a piece of clear vinyl to the fabric. This vinyl will be
the viewing area of the tag. Creating luggage fabric tags is an excellent way to
ensure that your luggage is safe and secure.
